These are the titles of the twelve episodes that make up Aeneis, created by Maria Federica Maestri and Francesco Pititto, Visual work and contemporary performative installed on the Virgilian epic monument. Made for the film part in the allegorical landscapes crossed by Aeneas during the founding journey of latinity, Creation assumes the rhetorical figures of the Virgilian as investigation, In a critical interpretation of the iconology of the potentate and dominance.
In this great performative project, Lenz's visions merged with the sounds of four musicians of the international electronic scene: Lillevan, Paul Wirkus, The Ovo and Andrea Azzali-Monophon, engaged in the live performances of the individual episodes.
Lenz Refrazioni made the staging of the first six episodes - The wild boar race, I undergo weight, Lung, The dragons, Of which penalties and torture, Roasted meats – presented in a vibrant and extraordinarily demanding continuum from an artistic and productive point of view in the context of the sixteenth edition of the Festival Natura Dèi Teatri.
In the perimeter space of the Ara Pacis - celebratory and propaganda monument erected in the Marzio camp between the 13 and the 9 a.C. To glorify the Augustan victories and in the years of fascism the place of the gymnastic exercises of Roman youth - exactly reproduced by the installation, The first six ceremonial paintings inspired by the Aeneid are drawn. The walls of the scenic enclosure are "decorated" by the visual friezes of the film sequences in a substantial formal loyalty to the narrative system of the Fregi dell'Ara Pacis, explicit ornamental redundancy that connects this imperial and Aeneas the legendary progenitor of the Roman lineage.
Other sacrifices are consumed on the canteen of the contemporary ceremony and other gods are honored: the cruelty of a demented pater, The horror of maternal love, The torment of old age, The grotesque brutality of the Familia, The horror of the bodies in erotic constriction, Violence on dying animals, neuroleptic transit in the afterlife, they materialize in a skeletal epolet without consolation.
