FRANCESCA RUGGERINI – UNITED TOWARDS HER

«It takes an act of trust. To believe the voice. To believe in the true essence. To believe that we are called to, called for, called through, called despite. It takes an act of faith to be faithful.".

Starting from the analysis of the figure of Joan of Arc, we investigated by reflecting on the fusion of three fundamental points: vision/listening/transformation.

Francesca Ruggerini approached the study of contemporary dance during her adolescence, intensively attending courses under the guidance of different teachers, starting immediately to integrate research by participating in seminars with numerous Italian and international masters. He also approaches and delves into different techniques such as floorwork, contact improvisation, Release Technique, theater dance, Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais (currently enrolled in the professional training course at Self Wise Feldenkrais in Paris), Pilates, GYROKINESIS® (of which she became a certified trainer in 2011). Start working in 2004 as a mime dancer for numerous opera productions in Italy and abroad, the latest of which, dal 2013, under the direction of Romeo Castellucci with whom she is involved in new productions every year. He dances as a freelancer for various companies with various choreographers including Monica Casadei (Artemis danza), Jean Guillaume Weiss (Dance Theater Luxembourg), Cindy VanAcker (Cie Greffe). “Giovanna you are in God's grace?”
“If I'm not there, God put me there. If I am there, God will keep me there."

Because Giovanna?
Because he hears a voice and listens to it. He doesn't listen to what his father and mother say. She doesn't listen to what the religious figures who question her relentlessly say. He doesn't even listen to his king.
Listen to a voice. He knows two things about this voice: it comes from within and produces a sound.
Whose it is? Of God.
This is what she believes. This is what moves its steps.
From the teenager, little woman, girl, to a warrior commanding an army.
A warrior with male features, why war is waged like this. With sword and shield.
Lei, his armor, two shoulders that must bear all the responsibility of this world.
Giovanna who saves herself, Giovanna who saves everyone.
As if you could. As if we could take on the burden of everything.
Joan burning, they burned it.
She became the burden at some point.

Because Giovanna?
Because I'm translating his story, looking for a parallel, there is, there is a voice that speaks to all the Joans of this world.
And it's not the mother's, of the father, of the priest, of the friend, of the lover, of the whole society.
The voice that speaks, when he speaks, it is perhaps the divine that is in each of us.
It is perhaps the creative that manifests itself.
It is the wild self that reveals the real essence, the stuff you are made of.
This item must be chosen.
This voice is either listened to or silenced.
This voice burns.
This voice pushes, presses, yell out.

It takes an act of trust. To believe the voice. To believe in the true essence. To believe that we are called to, called for, called through, called despite.
It takes an act of faith to be faithful.

Lei, Giovanna, not even in a dream did that voice silence her.
She would have died there, rather.
She died there, Indeed.

Be faithful.
Not a little, sometimes, is capitalized.
Give yourself credit.
Recognize yourself.
Be in grace.
Like Giovanna.
