FAUST MEMORIES

With FAUST Memories, Lenz returns to Faust’s trilogy, to Goethe’s great tapestry that has characterized for three years (2000-2002) the artistic and theatrical production of the Company.

The dramaturgy of FAUST Memories concentrates strive into a solo monologue, Faust’s furious strive for knowledge of what boundless Nature still hides, still spares humanity.Magic and wonders awaken contemporary theater but it is still the human being in its immeasurable difference that most fascinates our times. As a young man Goethe saw a puppenspiele on the legend of Faust the Magician and the puppets handed to him the soul of his future work. The Puppet, the Angel, the Spirit of Time, and Donald Duck for Lenz are the talking heroes of these FAUST Memories.

FAUST MEMORIES – TRAILER 2018

FAUST MEMORIES – TRAILER 2004

Fourteen years from the première, this is more than a reprise of Faust Memories, it is a sedimentation, it is a sort of archaeological reemergence of a karstic and aesthetic path that Lenz carries out thoroughly and with esthetic consistency.
Nicola Arrigoni, Curtain, March 27, 2018

An unforgettable flowing of quotes, expressions, styles, while the text seems to be lost, so marvelously absorbed by the powerful physicality of the protagonist.
Valeria Ottolenghi, Journal of Parma, March 19, 2018

Physicality becomes the world, a body-stage, where to find and capture sudden emotional changes, philosophical tensions, fanning passions that emanate rich multiple meanings.
Francesca Ferrari, Theaterpolis, March 23, 2018
