Creazioni

The archive of creations created from 1986 to 2024 is available for consultation on the Foundation's previous website

Lenz's creations cross the dramaturgy and founding works of Western culture, retranscribing its poetic impulses into regenerating performative actions and powerful visual transfers.

The density of theatrical work is symmetrical to the intensity, exceptionality, uniqueness of the performers, sensitive reagents of the creative text. In an aesthetic convergence between exegetical fidelity to the word of the text, visual radicality of filmic creation, originality and conceptual extremism of artistic installation, Lenz's works rewrite philosophical tensions and aesthetic anxieties of the present in visionary signs.

Natura Dèi Teatri

The editions of the Natura Dèi Teatri visual & performing arts festival are available for consultation from the Foundation's previous website

Since 1996 Maria Federica Maestri and Francesco Pititto have taken care of the artistic direction of the transdisciplinary ND'T festival with a three-year thematic investigation, in an active network with various European institutions, associations and performing arts platforms.

Attention to contemporary languages, the interdisciplinarity of the events presented, a strong rooting in the territory combined with a profound vocation for international performance culture are historical characteristics of Natura Dèi Teatri.

Starting from 2022, the research project for new naturalcultural performative models Parentele was activated, based not on biological continuity but on the recognition of affinities and differences and the possibility of coexistence, hybridizing philosophy, mythology, sciences and arts. Researchers, artists and collectives are invited to co-produce with the artistic ensemble of Lenz projects divided into residencies, productions, workshops, seminars, presentation of shows.

Over the course of previous editions, the Natura Dèi Teatri Festival has been an important place of artistic research at a national and international level, a space for multidisciplinary comparisons open to the most significant performative experiences in the field of contemporary European creation.

A distinctive and founding element of the festival is the interaction between the historical, artistic and monumental heritage of the territories involved in the province of Parma, and the artistic-performative creations that are created in it.

Over the years, monumental complexes of great artistic value have been “contaminated”, such as the medieval Court of Giarola, the Ducal Palace of Colorno, the sixteenth-century Rocca dei Rossi of San Secondo Parmense, the Abbey of Valserena, the Casino dei Boschi di Carrega di Maria Luigia, the Cathedral of Fidenza as well as churches, cloisters, squares, villas and historic gardens.

Within the Festival there were Remondi & Caporossi, Studio Azzurro, Cesare Ronconi and Mariangela Gualtieri, Raffaella Giordano and Giorgio Rossi, Antonella Bertoni and Michele Abbondanza, MK and Kinkaleri, Franco Scaldati, Giorgio Barberio Corsetti, Federico Tiezzi, Sandro Lombardi, Danio Manfredini, Virgilio Sieni, Antonio Latella, Kinkaleri, Maria Donata D'Urso, Marcido Marcidorjs and many other artists who determined the contemporary Italian scene.

There are many presences of international importance such as Rodrigo Garcia, Sainkho Namtchylak, Soeur Marie Keyrouz, David Moss, Janek Schaefer, Lillevan, Paul Wirkus, Eva Meyer Keller, Claudia Dias, Miguel Pereira, Scanner, Meira Asher, Tseng Yu-Chin Lisbeth Gruwez, Mette Ingvarsten, Via Negativa, Jan Fabre, Carla Bozulich, Vera Mantero, Estzer Salamon, Fargion and Burrows, Naoko Tanaka, Antonia Baeher, Roger Bernat, Ivo Dimchev, Erna Ómarsdóttir, Doris Ulich, Dan Perjovschi, Maguy Marin, Boris Kadin, Lea Moro and Tim Spooner.

Since 2003, Natura Dèi Teatri has been developed as a visual and performative project with a three-year theme.

  • 2003-2005 Bellezza e Paura, Prodigi e Profezie, Adorazioni e Visioni
  • 2006-2008 Opere Costanti, Opere Turbate e Opere Pazienti
  • 2015-2017 Materia Del Tempo ispirato dall’opera dell’artista statunitense Richard Serra: Porte (2015), Punto Cieco (2016), Scia (2017).

The Theater Practices training courses, available on the previous Foundation website, are available for consultation

Pratiche di Teatro is a complex training project of performing arts that from 1994 to 2017 trained numerous actors, dancers, directors, technicians who in addition to having participated in the creation of the main works of Lenz, have undertaken significant paths in the field of contemporary creation.

The indispensable matrix of Lenz's pedagogical thought is the search for a new linguistic function of the actor in contemporary theatre. The laboratory is the state in which dramatic wisdom, scenic philosophies and living techniques are transfused, it is the place where nature and ingenuity compete for the boundaries of aesthetic prodigy. It is the time in which the human passes away to fully fulfill himself in his artistic and poetic destiny. It is a monument under construction to the human sensitive.

Habitat Pubblico

The Habitat Pubblico seasons are available for consultation on the Foundation's previous website

Habitat Pubblico was the performing and visual arts exhibition held in the period March – October from 2014 to 2024. In addition to programming Lenz's creations, he has included research activities, seminars, laboratories, streaming, site-specific installations in monumental spaces in the city and province of Parma.

A decade of theatrical seasons composed of a plurality of performative, educational and didactic proposals, which have opened the post-industrial spaces of Lenz Teatro to public use.

Historic headquarters of the formation since 1989, Lenz Teatro is located in via Pasubio, in Parma, in a former peripheral and popular neighborhood which has undergone intense urban redevelopment interventions over the last few years. Here the traces of an industrial past, of which isolated sections of important archaeological value survive, coexist with innovative contemporary architectural experiments in a typology of European-style urban redevelopment.
