Die Schachtel

Die Schachtel (La Scatola, 1962/3) is a scenic_musical reworking for performer, projections and chamber orchestra by Franco Evangelisti, a refined musical researcher and founder of Nuova Consonanza. The “flexibility” that Evangelisti pursued in the global conception of the work becomes an accessible gateway to new interpretative, aesthetic, dramaturgical and visual elements. A new lifeblood for the eight designed structures and their infinite aggregations and formal solutions. The intersubjective reaction or moment of individual freedom, neurosis as acceptable escape, lyrical escape, reaction as a response of collective psychology, linguistic gestural dissociation, delusional escape, glorification of the system, identification with the system of minimal effort. The moment of musical performance becomes above all a representation of a new world that the performers contribute to creating – “making theatrical action survive in music” wrote Evangelisti - the only truly alternative and intense contemporary one “fusion between visual and sonic act”.
