THIS IS NOT OBSCENE
SUNDAY 15 NOVEMBER h 15:00 – h 19:00
Symposium curated by Silvia Mei | live arts scholar and theater historian
The day aims to give voice to a difference, the female one, which reaffirms its own subjectivity in the ways of inhabiting the world, to found languages, in search of singular and unique authenticity. It is no coincidence that the title of this intergenerational meeting recalls the cry of Femen in the recent flashmob at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, when a visitor was denied entry because her dress was "too low-cut". You can therefore behave like a woman, as the English expression woman up suggests, but in terms of having a say on one's own condition, that is, it is not just a question of self-awareness or an action of revolt? Caught in a paradox, between overcoming gender and sexist discrimination, let's hear it, by women, to reiterate this difference of ours and start from there to demand equality, beyond empty formulas and quotas.
We feel like promoters of community utopias, of ecological messages, of human and humanitarian challenges.
Furthermore, we know that it is difficult to address similar issues without running the risk of ideological positioning or taking on radical tones. We will then start from the evidence, from irreducible details: or from poetics, practices, biography, models and aspirations. Let's start from the reality of what we are and what we have been in order to continue to be what we desire.
