Simon Mayer

Simon Mayer, performer, coreografo e musicista, nasce in Austria nel 1984 e studia alla Vienna State Opera Ballet School, ai Performing Arts and Research Studios di Bruxelles ed è membro della Vienna State Opera Ballet. Nel 2009 fonda la sua band Rising Halfmoon in cui opera come cantante, cantautore e chitarrista. Simon ha lavorato con numerosi artisti tra cui Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Wim Vandekeybus e Zita Swoon. È coreografo di diversi soli, duetti e pièces di gruppo che sono stati presentati nei maggiori Festival europei (O Feather of lead, dancing with soundhobbyist/Zita Swoon, Monkeymind, SunBengSitting, Sons of Sissy). Simon è stato artista residente al Théâtre de L’L di Bruxelles ed è direttore artistico del Festival Spiel, da cui l’omonima associazione fondata con i fratelli. Insegna tecniche vocali e danza contemporanea, folklorica e tradizionale (Impulstanz Vienna, Steirischer Herbst) ed è professore associato al Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität.
