Ho creato una parola che non esisteva, Imagoturgia. Un neologismo per meglio delineare una funzione, un lavoro che facesse procedere di pari passo drammaturgia e immagine, l’una scivolare nell’altra, entrambe a mutarsi in opera fisica con e dentro il corpo dell’attore. Imagoturgia, imago in érgon. In greco érgon è una parola che si avvicina al significato di “lavoro”, ma al tempo stesso ha un significato più ristretto e più ampio. Érgon indica il lavoro dell’operaio, dell’atleta ma indica anche l’operare in sè, l’essere in atto, al lavoro, di una cosa inanimata o animata. Il vedere è l’érgon degli occhi, l’essere amato e rispettato è l’érgon dell’uomo. Quando i nostri attori sensibili ricreano un testo, gesti, movimenti, relazioni qual’è l’érgon dell’immagine? L’occhio di una macchina da presa rifrange chi gli sta di fronte, la dimensione dell’anima, di quel che dovrebbe essere l’anima, la camera oscura della visione e del sentimento, del ricordo, del sogno. L’occhio di chi guarda dentro quest’occhio scolpisce la materia informe che grida riscatto e liberazione, piano piano martella il duro involucro della presunta malattia, giù fino al centro. L’immagine scultura si espande poi per il quadro filmico riconquistandosi durezza e bellezza, certificando così la possibilità dell’arte teatrale di non essere già morta nella gabbia dell’istituzione teatrale. Priva di sentimentalismo, ma plasmata dal sentimento, l’immagine ritorna al tempo reale del vissuto, del praticato, del provato.

TROVAVANO IL LORO SENSO ESTETICO E DRAMMATURGICO A CONTATTO CON I LORO CORPI FISICI, CON LA LORO MELANCOLIA LIEVE. COSI’ RIUNITE SI ESPONGONO NUDE E CRUDE, RISTRETTE IN TEMPI DI COMPOSIZIONE FORMALE ATIPICI, NUOVI. UNA DOPO L’ALTRA SI PASSANO IL TESTIMONE DEL VISSUTO ARTISTICO, DAI VIVI AI MORTI E POI ANCORA AI VIVI, DAI NUMEROSI HAMLET A DIDO AFRICANA, DAL CHAOS OVIDIANO ALL’AENEIS VIRGILIANA FINO AI QUADRI RISTRETTI DELLE PRIME PROVE SU I PROMESSI SPOSI.
SONO IN REALTA’ RIFRAZIONI DELL’IMAGOTURGIA, DELLE IMAGOTURGIE IN CUI SI RISPECCHIAVANO GLI ATTORI SENSIBILI DAL VIVO, UN AFFRESCO DI IMMAGINI E SUONI PLASMATI DALL’ESPERIRE ARTISTICO SULLO SCHERMO DEL TEMPO. I created a word that did not exist, Imagoturgy. A neologism to better individuate a function, to process dramaturgy and image side by side, the one slipping into the other, both transforming into a physical work with and inside the body of the actor. Imagoturgy, imago in érgon. In Greek érgon is close in meaning to “work”, but at the same time it has a narrower and wider meaning. Érgon indicates the labour of workers and athletes but it also indicates operating in itself, being in act, at work, of an inanimate or animate thing. Seeing is the érgon of the eyes, being loved and respected is the érgon of mankind. When our sensitive actors recreate a text, gestures, movements, relations, which is the érgon of the image? The eye of a camera refracts what is in front of it, the dimension of the soul, of what soul should be, the darkroom of vision and feelings, of memory, of dreams. The eye of those who watch inside this eye imprints the unshaped matter that screams for liberation. It gradually hammers the hard shell of the supposed disease, down to the centre. The image-sculpture expands, then, through the film tableau, re-conquering hardness and beauty, thus certifying the possibility of theatrical art not to be already dead in the cage of the theatrical institution. Without sentimentalisms, but shaped by feelings, image gets back to real time of living, practiced and experienced.

THERE IS NO STORY, NARRATION OR PLOT, ALL IMAGES – OLD AND NEW – FLOW LIKE WATER. FASTER AND SLOWER, DEPENDING ON THE SENTIMENTAL WEIGHT OF THE IMAGE THAT PRECEEDS THEM. THEY FIND THEIR AESTHETIC AND DRAMATURGICAL MEANING IN CONTACT WITH THEIR PHYSICAL BODIES, WITH THEIR LIGHT MELANCHOLIA. THUS GATHERED, THEY EXPOSE THEMSELVES TRULY NAKED, RESTRICTED IN NEW AND ATYPICAL TIMES OF FORMAL COMPOSITION. ONE AFTER THE OTHER THEY PASS ON THE BATON OF ARTISTIC PAST, FROM ALIVES TO DEADS AND THEAN AGAIN TO ALIVES, FROM THE NUMEROUS HAMLETS TO AFRICAN DIDO, FROM OVIDIAN CHAOS TO VIRGILIAN AENEIS TILL THE RESTICTED TABLEAUX OF THE FIRST REHERSALS OF PROMESSI SPOSI. THESE ARE, IN FACT, REFRACTIONS OF IMAGOTURGY, OF IMAGOTURGIES IN WHICH THE SENSITIVE ACTORS MIRRORED THEMSELVES LIVE, A TABLEAU OF IMAGES AND SOUNDS SHAPED BY THE ARTISTIC EXPERIENCING ON THE SCREEN OF TIME. ONLY ONE VOICE IN THE BEGINNING, THE VOICE-OFF OF DANIELA, UNFORGETTABLE ACTRESS, FROM DANTONS TOD BY GEORG BÜCHNER.
